Welcome to Heathen

Friends and fiends, I’m ecstatic to unveil that Heathen is finally on its way. After first opening submissions well over a year ago, our first issue is on its way; in fact, you’ll be seeing it by the end of the year. The stories have been placed, the layout is done, and we’re going through one final line edit before we officially launch this thing.

What you should expect moving forward

Starting in December, we’re going to release four issues of Heathen per year. Issues will be released every third month, so you’ll be able to expect an issue with at least five short stories in March, June, September, and December. Along the way, maybe we’ll even do a special issue here and there as well. Although Heathen is a digital-first mag, we’re still planning to compile some of our readers’ favorite stories for inclusion in a physical annual that’s released once a year, likely in the fourth quarter.

Each issue will be made available for purchase on the first Wednesday of its release month and will be a purchase-exclusive digital magazine for a period of two weeks. If you buy directly through this website, each purchase will come with three formats for you to download: PDF, EPUB, and EPUB Reflowable. Heathen is also available through the Kindle marketplace, with plans to expand to others as we grow.

After the two-week purchase-exclusive period, that issue’s stories will then be uploaded to the Heathen website for free. One story will be uploaded per week.

Thrilling, terrifying horror will soon arrive.
